Located in the Classon's Point section of the Bronx, this 1,400 square foot duplex is loaded with amenities. On top of the condo's individual touches of stainless steel appliances, second bathroom, back yard and parking (not sure if you've ever owned a car in New York, but this is like finding penicillin in Brooklyn with a festering machete wound!), the development has a 24 hour security (doorman?), Olympic size pool, waterfront esplanade and a gym. You would think the maintenance/common charge would be through the roof, but alas, it is only $300/month.
Serious views of the Manhattan skyline and the Throg's Neck and Whitestone Bridges are a great backdrop for that evening glass of wine. If you get bored of taking in the views you could always check out Soundview Park, a bit inland to the north, which serves as the Bronx River's meeting point into the East River, and hence from NYC's only freshwater river into the rather mundane saltwater variety.
This hood is a bit out of the way in terms of transportation. You would have to take the bus to the 6 train, but this really is coastal living; I'd kayak to work to have parking and a waterfront esplanade (or penicillin for my machete wound).
Could you imagine what this would cost in a maritime suburb or the coastline of another borough? Take advantage of the low profile of the Bronx and scoop up some waterfront property at historically low prices.
