If her appearance on Dancing with the Stars didn't endear her to the bailando-mad South Bronx, maybe this HUGE gift of healthy and meatless grub will raise her profile with SoBro residents.
There will be a ceremony today at the year-old Hunts Point Riverside Park with Congressman José Serrano.

Hey Guys,
Read about your blog in the Times this morning. Best of luck with it and with your new digs.
I grew up in the Bronx and now live in a small town just outside of Tampa, Florida.
I passed by your neighborhood every day on the Bx 17 bus from Co-Op City to Bronx Science HS. Next, I the number 7 train to college every day at Baruch, which back then was a great education but not at all "known" as it is today. It was like, "If you can't afford real school and you're even half-way ambitious, you went to Baruch."
I am astounded to see a resurgence in some of the areas of the Bronx, especially along the Concourse.
In the late 1960's, I remember going to Alexanders on Fordham and the GC, the movies, and Jahn's ice cream shoppe. Things went downhill shortly after that, but hopefully, they are on the upswing now.
Continued success and best wishes, Craig Garber
