Vacca Making Things Happen for Bronxites

We get a lot of email and press releases in our inbox here at BoogieDowner, and sadly we don't get to feature each piece of good news that we receive.

It has just occurred to me that since the New Year, we've received a bunch of emails from Council Member James Vacca's office announcing very concrete projects he's worked on to improve services for Bronxites.

Some of the projects he's been working on include:
  • Securing $300,000 worth of grants to help restore PS 83's aging library. The new space is complete with 10 desktop computers; a SMART board projector and screen; new bookcases, tables, and chairs; new lighting and flooring; and general repairs.
  • Securing the donation of the installation of a new stove to the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.
  • Announcing the allocation of over $10 million in tech funding to schools in his district.
  • Visiting the senior citizens at Jeanne Jugan Residence to deliver a free flower arrangement on New Year's Day.
It's really refreshing (especially with the sad economic state of the City right now) to see a politician who's actually getting tangible improvements for his constituents.

Keep up the good work Council Member Vacca!
