This is a very old school Bedford Park single family house just south of Mosholu Parkway. It was built in 1901 and might need a little TLC, but the size, price, location, and tradition of this house make it worth a look. They just don't make houses that look like this anymore. This baby even has a gorgeous set of pocket doors leading into the dining room... not an easy detail to come by.
The block is right in the middle of Bedford Park. You'd be a few blocks from the Botanical Garden, and literally one block south of Mosholu Parkway, which serves the nabe as a mile or so long green stretch connecting the Botanical Garden to Van Cortland park. Lot's of green space up here.
There'd be some shopping on the 204th on the southern side of the Mosholu Parkway. This stretch of 204th is like a mini Koreatown with a great Korean BBQ place, some really nice Korean speciality places, and a C-Town for food shopping. For more significant shopping you could cross the Mosholu Parkway to 204th where there is a Foodtown, a fish monger, a bakery, a CVS and some mom and pop restaurants, a dinner, a Blockbuster, and even a pet store.
Lehman College and Fordham University are both in the hood, so there's always some cultural or athletic event going on.
Transportation is nice with the B/D at Bedford Park Blvd and the Concourse, the 4 at Bedford park Blvd and Jerome Ave, and the Botanical garden Metro North stop 3 blocks away.
