Event Reminders: TGIF!

Great Backyard Bird Count @ Van Cortlandt Park
Bird and nature fans are invited to join the Friends of Van Cortlandt Park in the 12th annual Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) tomorrow, 2/14, at 10am. This national event is a joint project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society. Come and help us count birds in the Park. We will report our sightings online at www.birdcount.org. This free event is an opportunity to discover the wonders of nature and, at the same time, make an important contribution to conservation. 'Rabbit Hole' @ Center Stage Community Playhouse
Rabbit Hole is a critically acclaimed drama about loss, heartbreak, and forgiveness. The story focuses on the aftermath of a family's tragedy as they strive to move on with their lives. It is a sad, sweet, heartwarming tale that Variety described as "an intensely emotional examination of grief, laced with wit, insightfulness, compassion, and searing honesty." Performances are tonight, 2/13, and tomorrow night, 2/14, at 8pm and Sunday, 2/15, at 2pm. Tickets are $18 for general admission and $15 for students and seniors. Click here for more info. Events @ Wave Hill
This weekend's 'Family Art Project' is creating unique Valentines. Guided by papermaker Randy Brozen, form your own tinted, textured sheets and shapes. Then combine and decorate into cards you can send with love. Free with admission tomorrow, 2/14, and Sunday, 2/15, from 1 to 4pm.
There will also be a classical concert this Sunday, 2/15, at 2pm. Classical violin prodigy Laura Lutzke launches Wave Hill's series devoted to emerging artists with a program of sonatas and salon works that underline both the demonic and sentimental qualities of the violin. Events @ Bronx Library Center
There will be Flamenco Music and Dance by The Flamenco Latino Company tomorrow, 2/14, at 2:30pm at the Bronx Library Center. The Flamenco Latino Company was established in 1979 by Aurora Reyes and Basilio Georges. Flamenco Latino has performed throughout New York City and on tour, continually refining and honing its cutting-edge mix of Spanish and Latino cultural styles. There will also be "Tales of Africa and the African Diaspora" presented by Regina Ress for ages 5 to 12 on Sunday, 2/15 at 2pm. Click here for more information regarding both of these events.

The Pointer Sisters and Kool and the Gang @ Lehman

Bronx Underground All Ages Scene Dance Party @ First Lutheran Church

Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra @ Lehman
The Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Derek Gleeson, will mark its U.S. premiere concert with a rich and diverse program of works by Beethoven, Brahms, Mahler, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky. The orchestra has performed and recorded classical and modern repertoire, film scores for motion pictures and television.
