Listing of the Day: Bedford Park Co-op

2962 Decatur Avenue, Junior 4 - $169,000

This is a nice sized Jr. 4 at 930 square feet. It is on a quiet block just off of Bedford Park Blvd. You'd be literally around the block from the Botanical Garden and its Metro North stop. Mosholu Parkway serves as a beautiful strip of green park space for the neighborhood, and Williamsbridge Oval is a short walk away.

The apartment is in a cool-looking Art Deco building and seems to have decent updates in the kitchen and well-done floors.
There is some shopping on Bedford Park Blvd, but a lot of your errands would be run across the Mosholu Parkway on 204th Street/Bainbridge. If you're looking for that huge urban outdoor mall feel, you'd walk or take the BX-41 bus down Webster Avenue to Fordham Rd.

There is always something happening culturally in the hood with Fordham University, Lehman College and the Botanical Garden nearby. Fordham has a beautiful antiquities museum now, Lehman has its own art gallery, and the Garden is its own museum of nature. You'd also have decent college hoops in the nabe with Fordham playing an A-10 Conference schedule (Go Rams!).

And the Norwood News' Alex Kratz has just recently reported that the 52nd Precinct has the lowest year to year crime numbers of any precinct in the Bronx. “We’re actually doing better than any other precinct in the borough,” said Lieutenant Charles Hammer of the 52nd Precinct.

Transportation is plentiful: B/D at Bedford Park and the Concourse for those who work on the West Side, 4 at Bedford Park and Jerome for those who work on the East Side, and Metro North at Botanical Square for the fancy pants commuters.
