New Definition of "Homework" in the Bronx

Some lucky (or possibly unlucky, depending on how the students look at it) Bronx students will have the opportunity to essentially take their classroom home with them.

According to the New York Post's Yoav Gonen, nearly 600 students at PS 5 in Mott Haven will receive mini-laptops, as well as free wireless internet in their homes.

The laptops will serve as a useful resource for completing assignments, as well as collaborating with classmates and keeping in touch with teachers. New "child-centered" curricula are being developed to take full advantage of the new technology.
