Smackdown in the BoogieDown

Daily News' Tanyanika Samuels reports that a new wrestling training center has set up shop in Co-op City. The center was established by Beat the Streets, an organization whose mission is to expand and develop wrestling programs for youth around New York City.

Aside from developing talented wrestlers, the aim of Beat the Streets and the new center is to also give students an extracurricular outlet so that their studies will improve, thus making them more attractive to colleges and universities. Prior to the opening of this center, wrestling teams had to trek into Manhattan to do their training.
