Daily News' Bob Kappstatter had some interesting nuggets of intrigue yesterday:
- Nelson Castro (who won the Dem Primary for state assemblyman in the West Bronx despite having a past criminal record and having a somewhat shocking nine people who listed his address on their voter registration) is being called out for denying knowing those voters who were allegedly living with him while under oath. Richard Soto, a Bronx resident who's active in politics (and also the brother of Mike Soto, who ran against Nelson), has supposedly filed an official complaint with the DA's office asking them to look into Nelson's alleged perjury under oath.
- Poor Kappy (blogosphere's pet name for Daily News' Bronx Borough Chief Bob Kappstatter, second only to BoogieDowner's nickname of "Silver Fox") got a bit roughed up by Bronx Democratic Chairman(?) Jose Rivera Sunday at the Morris Park Columbus Day parade. Rivera is apparently not digging Kappy's coverage of the battle for control of the Democratic Party, and yelled at him and gave him a knuckle tap to the jaw. Who knew it was so dangerous to be a journalist covered Bronx politics? Rivera's people have also allegedly circulated a letter which refers to Kappy as a "malicious hatchet-man." Unfortunately they were so busy coming up with the dramatic language they couldn't even bother to spell Kappy's last name properly...

Who is Mike Soto? Does he have a political stand? or is he Richard Soto's puppet? How about it? What do we know about him?
I'm guessing then he has no political stance or agenda. I heard they tried to reach him for comment and nothing. Nada. Sounds like a puppet and someone we really don't need representing us.
