Farewell "Mr. Bronx"

Daily News' Bob Kappstatter reports that Elias Karmon, who earned the nickname "Mr. Bronx" for his many contributions to and love for all things Bronx, passed away yesterday at the age of 98.

It sounds as if Mr. Karmon is certainly one of the people whom we can thank for getting the BoogieDown through some rough times. Among his many other civic contributions, he served as president of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce for four consecutive terms, and even gave new life to it in 2002 when it was floundering.

Thank you for your many contributions to making the BoogieDown the great place it is today, Mr. Bronx.
