Listing of the Day: Pelham Parkway Co-op

665 Thwaites Place, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms - $225,000

This is a super large co-op (1000 square feet) that actually has TWO bathrooms. Yep, you read that right: two lavatories That's something you don't see everyday in apartment living. The location is nestled between Boston Road and Bronx Park just north of Pelham Parkway.

Obviously you'd be super close to the Zoo and the Botanical Garden. You'd also be close to Arthur Avenue and a short bus ride on the BX 12 to City Island and Orchard Beach. And speaking of the BX 12, you'd also be able to take it to get to the Christmas spectacle that is the Garabedian family house (located at Westervelt and Pelham Parkway).

You'd probably have to pull up those crazy rugs, but think about the joy of alternating bathrooms everyday! The sheer options make BoogieDowner swoon. Maybe you could have one bathroom for #1 and another for #2? But alas, we won't continue such an intimate discussion here.

Transportation is pretty nice with the 2 and 5 trains a few blocks away at Pelham Parkway and White Plains Road.

I was raised at 620 Thwaites Place, the older building directly west of 665. Glad to see that the street where I lived is still so desirable.I remember when the building and many others like it was built, sometime in the late 50's. I return to the street fairly often, because I tutor a few blocks away---the area still seems very mellow. Anyway, I enjoy reading this blog---keep it up!

This building is in a great -almost secret -little enclave that is indeed very mellow while being very convenient. It looks much the same as it did 40 years ago! I think there is a high % of coops and condos in a relatively small area which probably accounts for it's upkeep.

the guy who runs 620 thwaites place is a real asshole named mario,he routinely allows his ghetto friends to party in the back of the building til all hours of the night and into the morning! in the 4+ years i lived there i constantly endured nights of no sleep due the noise created by gambling, smoking, drinking, hanging out,sex and other nonsense! complaints to 311 did nothing! thers always a dog back barking and in the summer time mario and his ghetto trash creeps have the nerve to have cook outs back there til 3 in the morning! screw the tenants! he never pays the con ed bill, they are always threatening t cut the buildings electricity, and forget about repairs!! he shows up 3 weeks later usually after 7pm if he shows up at all! screw him and the building! BUYER BEWARE!!

the building is nice, the area is clean but the building management leaves a whole lot to be desired! its almost as if the building is being run by some half assed albanian mob! theres all kinds of noise coming from the back of the back of the building, especially in the summertime, all kind of partying, repair work is rarely done and usually done slopply!the building manager has these thug friends who hang around morning ,noon, and night! intimidating the tenants!he does not pay the bills for the building and acts as if the building is his private toy! i was glad to get out!SKIP THIS BUILDING!
