This house is broken into a three bedroom on top of a two bedroom on top of a one bedroom basement apartment. If you wanted use this as a one family it would be pretty damned big at over 3,000 square feet. If you wanted to rent some of the space out you would be able to defer some of the mortgage payment.
The location is wedged just south of the Cross Bronx Expressway and just north of Crotona Park. Crotona Park is actually pretty cool and on the upswing (as per the NY Times and it's 'Living In' article). It even has a pro tennis tournament every August called the GXI Bronx Tennis Classic - seriously.
Not sure why the listing agent wouldn't take down the boards on the windows, at least for the listing photos. But Bronx real estate is a little unconventional at times. In fact, the reason I've posted a bathroom pick is not because the bathroom is all that nice; in fact, it was because it was the least blurry pic and the only photo that didn't feature a boarded up window.
The transportation would be decent with the 2 and 5 trains stopping just a block or two away at 174th street and Southern Blvd.
