NYC COUNCIL MEMBER FERNANDO CABRERA TO UNVEIL STREET SIGN IN HONOR OF COMMUNITY ACTIVIST

Here is an event for an individual that made a difference. I did not know the lady but she must have done many good things for the community to receive such an honor. Once more, freshman NYC Councilman Cabrera is on top of a positive event for the community. If anyone can attest to the good deeds done buy this honoree please do let me know via a post in the comments section or a more lengthy e-mail via boogiedowner@gmail.com.

Phyllis Reed was a member of Community Board #7 and an active member of the Board's Parks' Committee. She is best known for the gardening work she did on a plot of land around the Kingsbridge Armory. She transformed a vacant stretch of land around the armory to a lovely community garden. During the summer she also supervised youngsters who worked in the garden with her.
