"Help Me Howard" of WPIX-TV comes to Pelham Parkway to Participate in Black History Month Celebration

Here is another fun event for anyone in the area. A celebration honoring Howard Thompson of WPIX-TV (AKA-"Help Me Howard") will be held today at 12:30 P.M. at the Sue Ginsburg Senior Center here in the Bronx. More Kudos’ to Councilman Vacca with a great event in honor of Black History Month. It should be fun. If I can swing by and take some photos I will. More information can be found below.

Vacca to Host Black History Event
Help Me Howard, Local Volunteer To Be Honored

Tomorrow afternoon at 12:30 P.M., Council Member James Vacca will host a celebration in honor of Black History Month at the Sue Ginsburg Senior Center, located at 975 Waring Ave. He will honor Howard Thompson of WPIX-TV, who used his Help me Howard segment to bring attention to the concerns of residents of Pelham Parkway who were faced with an intrusive and potentially dangerous MRI truck in the middle of their neighborhood last year, as well as Ian Curry, a military veteran and active member of the Vacca Volunteer Corps. Students from PS 89 will also present a cultural performance for the occasion.
