Open Call for Printmakers

BoogieDowner received word from Studio 889, a nonprofit visual arts gallery, workshop and classroom which specializes in printmaking, that they have an open call for print submissions for their Second Annual Holiday Print Show.

A $5 entry fee pays for the submission of three prints/pieces, and Studio 889 receives a 25% commission on the sale of your work. But hey, they're in the process of becoming a non-profit organization and I'm sure could use any support possible during these rough economic times. Plus, selected artists get great exposure for their work and a little extra chicken for holiday shopping... it's a win-win.

For nitty-gritty details on submission guidelines, click here. Deadline in November 22nd.

If you're not an artist but love to shop, the print show will be running from December 6th to January 10th on Thursdays and Fridays from 3 to 6pm and Saturdays from 10am to 6pm. The top price is $125. Studio 889 is located at 889 Hunts Point Avenue. Visit their website here.
