Listing of the Day: Pelham Parkway Co-op

Cruger Ave and Pelham Parkway North, 2 Bedroom $179,000

What a deal! A two bedroom, 900 square foot co-op for less than $180K. You could walk to the Zoo and the latest set of Project Runway (i.e. the New York Botanical Garden). Pelham Parkway itself serves as a miles long stretch of usable green park space. Decent shopping can be found on the southern side of Pelham Parkway along White Plains Road.

The kitchen in this apartment is way nicer than it should be for $179K. Dark cherry wood cabinets, granite and stainless steel appliances. There is a pass-through from the kitchen that can serve as a breakfast nook, and a fire place.

Transportation is half a block away with the 2 train at Pelham Parkway. And if you're staying in the Bronx to check out some of the borough's numerous attractions that aren't in walking distance, you can always take the BX12 bus west along Pelham Parkway to Arthur Ave (mmmm...) and Fordham Road or east to Pelham Bay Park, Orchard Beach and City Island.

Obviously no Pelham Parkway mention is complete without BoogieDowner's homage to residential yuletide spectacle. Wow your friends with your hood's serious holiday pride. This annual spectacle on the corner of Westervelt and Pelham Parkway is not to be missed, but often overlooked.

It's high time people started giving props to Pelham Parkway. Great access to mass transit, affordable rents, a decent mix of shops on White Plains Rd., lots of green space, a hop, skip and a jump away from Arthur Ave., the Bronx Zoo and Botanical Gardens-- what more could you want?
