Community Board No. 8 Bronx Seeks Nominations for Community Service Award
Bronx, New York, March 1, 2011 – Bronx Community Board No. 8 is pleased to announce that it is accepting nominations for the Bronx Community Board No. 8 2010 Community Service Award. The Community Service Award was established to acknowledge the many volunteer efforts of groups and individuals within our community. It is our belief that by recognizing our committed community volunteers, we can in some small way reward those most deserving and inspire others to follow their example.
The only criteria for consideration is that the nominee has acted on a volunteer basis to improve or enhance, in some way, the quality of life of those living or working in the Bronx Community Board No. 8 area. The nominations are open to individuals, students and organizations or groups with an interest in the community. Those who are salaried for their efforts or who perform these services as an extension of their professional responsibility are not eligible for this award.
Entries must include the name of the person or group being nominated, contact information; i.e., address and phone number, a description and nature of the volunteer work for which the nominee is being considered, including its duration and the resulting impact on the community. All contributions to our community, big and small, will be considered. The individual or organization offering the nomination must also be identified, including a contact number.
Nominations must be received by Friday, April 1, 2011 addressed to:
Robert G. Abbott, Chairperson, Community Service Award Committee, Community Board No. 8 Bronx, 5676 Riverdale Avenue, Suite 100, Bronx, NY 10471.

P.S It has original content. But first you have to learn how to use its search function.

Dear Anonymous #3:

Thank you. I know I am helping people by getting out valuable information. When I have time I do post original content. Everything posted is either a primary source document or an original piece. As per the whiners it's the same few anonymous people who have nothing better to do. BoogieDowner posts have made it to Forbes, The New York Times, The Daily News and other prominent news sources. In addition, since posting real estate related issues (probably the pieces about Hunts Point) I even have had readership in China. I get about 300 reads a week from China.
