Bronx Film Maker Mark Makowski, "Snow Shark" Film Teaser, Boardwalk Empire and City Island

Here is a fun post about, Bronx film producer and friend, Marc Makowski's next project. Besides the long lists of blockbuster movies his firm has worked on in the past, he also has a long list of low budget movies he produced and SOLD. Some of you might have read the last post on "Slime City Massacre", which was sold and is set for international release on May 10th.

His next project is called "Snow Shark". Please see the film teaser below. It will probably make you laugh, but it's guaranteed to leave you wondering. The teaser received over 2,000 hits in the last week or so since posted on You tube.

Marc has also been active helping Bronx youth understand the film and music industry by conducting symposiums. The last film and music industry symposium was held at "The Point" theatre and community center in Hunts Point. The headliners included executives from Sony records, Bronxnet and heavy weight writer and producer, Terence Winters. The audience was filled with youth, eager to learn about the music and film industry. For those who don’t know, Terence Winters is the writer of many of the HBO shows we love including “the Sopranos" and "Boardwalk Empire".

For those who have not heard, Boardwalk Empire recently filmed on our beloved City Island. Besides my love for the series, I can’t wait for the new episodes to come out and so we get to see scenes from City Island in “Boardwalk Empire”. Good luck to Marc’s new movie venture and his great symposiums, which I will post more on when scheduled. I look forward to more of his films being shot in our borough and kudos to HBO for remembering the Bronx when planning their production shoots.
