BRONX RESIDENTS MARCH ON NYCHA FOR $1.4M CAPITAL FUNDED SECURITY CAMERAS

Here is another rally that took place yesterday that needs mentioning. Unfortunately, the e-mail was sent on a Sunday and I did not open the e-mail in time to post prior to the rally. Hopefully the post will encourage more community organizations to organize and fight for safety and quality of life issues when appropriate. As mentioned below, the rally centered on needed security cameras. As per the press release below, NYS State Senator Ruth Hassell secured 1.4 million for the project, but work on installing the cameras has not commenced. WHAT: The UNITED NEW YORK CITY HOUSING AUTHORITY RESIDENTS of the 36th Senatorial District will hold an early afternoon March and Rally for Safety and Quality Of Life of our combined NYCHA Residences. UNR supports of our poor and working families of NYCHA residences, who DEMANDS more security and the immediate installation of Close Circuit TV (CCTV) Senator Ruth Hassell -Thompson secured [$1.4 Million in capital funds] for the residents.

· Our Seniors continue to get Harassed!
· Our Children continue to get SHOT! ·
