Environmental Bike Tour of the South Bronx and Randall's Island
Tomorrow, 4/11, 10am, Brook Park (141st Street an Brook Avenue)...
Now for over ten successful years, this innovative event is an example of a continuing partnership between Time's Up! and Friends of Brook Park of the South Bronx. This is really a trip on the wild side for a unique view of what is world-renowned as the "South Bronx." A leisurely tour that includes beautiful natural wonders of the waterfront, community gardens and art, and historic places. This season, the ride will starts under the sublime cherry blossoms of Brook Park. Participants of all ages are made aware through actual site visits of polluting fossil fuel power plants and gargantuan waste transfer facilities that litter our rivers' shores. See where Con Ed is proposing to dam the Bronx Kill.... And more! Alternatives to the existing government policies are brought to everyone's
attention, with post-ride action steps including promoting demonstrations, letter writing, and email campaigns. Click here for more info.

Wave Hill Volunteering @ Van Cortlandt
Tomorrow, 4/11, from 1pm to 4pm. Meet at the Van Cortlandt Stable. Remove invasive species in the forest by cutting back and uprooting Multiflora Rose shrubs and choking vines like Porcelain Berry so that native plants can flourish. Be a part of ongoing restoration efforts to ensure a healthy future for one of New York City’s largest and loveliest parks. In cooperation with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation. Based on a Celtic folktale, "The Silkie" uses puppetry and songs to tell the mythic story of a wondrous creature from the sea, who is bestowed with the mystic power of walking the earth as human. With magic, adventure,and a generous dose of humanity, this whimsical play illuminates thedreams of a fairy tale creature who wants nothing more than to be human, even if it’s just for a little while. Presented by Urban Stages. For ages 5 and older.
Tomorrow, 4/11, at 2:30pm - Grupo Caribe in Concert - Grupo Caribe is a NYC based nine member band that performs Mambo/Salsa dance music. Included in the band's repertoire are big band Mambos, Cha Cha Cha, Son Montunos, Bomba and Plena, Boleros, Merengue and Latin Jazz.
