It would be great if this were not held in the middle of the day when a majority of Bronxites are probably at work.
Ummmm...most Bronxites don't work. That's the heart of Diaz's message. Keep him in office and you still won't have to work. Foodstamps, SSI, medicaid, section 8, welfare all keep flowing with him in charge.

I agree that every able-bodied man and woman should carry their weight, but I am also sure the amount of corporate welfare given out is far more than what is given to the poor. We can start by giving the $800K plus small business grants that went to Brookfield Property subsidiaries (The 8 Billion $ a year conglomerate that “owners” Zuccatti Park) to Bx. entrepreneurs or possible eliminating for-profit Charter schools that pay a $1 a year rent.
What Bronx residents and labor in general need is to get paid a proper wage ,"A Living Wage",for their services. If we had any respect for real labor in America, would passive income be taxed at lower rate than non-passive income? In addition, if everyone else could not profit from the cheap labor of many Bronx residents or money spent on social programs to feed, house and take care of the poor, how would a large percentage of this city/nation create its wealth? I know a few people who have very done well providing social services. I respect them when they understand who really puts food on their table without pointing the finger to trick them into feeling superior.
