It is really disturbing to hear the sheer amount of hunger in the Bronx. The amount of indigent and destitute is really staggering in this borough, but when you have your elected officials squashing developments that provide opportunities, and claim "No job is better than a job"..well...these numbers should not surprise anyone.

The Daily News needs to hire a Subject-Verb Agreement Editor. The headline on the food pantry story is painful --"Bronxites takes long rides..."
