Seriously, the post title is correct: $65K for an apartment. This one bedroom is cheaper than a 20% down payment on most Manhattan studios. This apartment is cheaper than a Cadillac Escalade. This asking price is less than one year's salary of a NYC public school teacher with ten years experience. Do you get the point? This apartment is insanely cheap.
Admittedly the pictures are really poor, and one would imagine there is some TLC needed, but a good investment nonetheless. At least it has indoor plumbing for $65K. Take it from Slick Rick on the benefits of owning in the Bronx.
The nabe would be Fordham, which can certainly be rough around the edges, but you do have Fordham Road (and proximity to Maria's Tacos), the Botanical Garden, the Zoo, the baddest library in the Bronx and fantastic transportation. B/D at Fordham Road and the Concourse, 4 at Jerome and the Concourse, and Metro North at Webster Avenue and Fordham Road.
Is this the cheapest one bedroom in the City? The BoogieDowner thinks so.
