Round'em Up

Here are some Bronx-related stories which we've rounded up for you, our lovely readers, while trolling the interweb with our horse and lasso this fine morning:

The gang over at BxNN reached out to Assemblyperson Vanessa Gibson after our post yesterday indicated (with photos) that she used a police placard to park illegally and block a bike lane on the Grand Concourse...Gibson offered a statement of apology, but failed to mention why she was using the placard [BxNN, uncivilservants.org]

Sam Dolnick gets down to the bottom of the rationale behind the name of the LA punk band 'The Bronx' - the musicians simply thought the Bronx was "the toughest place on earth" [New York Times]

A plan to move the National and New York Guard units from the Kingsbridge Armory annex to the Muller Center in Wakefield and use the annex space for new schools has stalled...BP Ruben Diaz Jr. sits on a city panel which could decide the fate of the Muller Center space once it is vacated by the Army Reserve in 2011 [Daily News]

Thanks for the Info of Uncivilservants.org ! I think that the more that people know about where they can post photos and report this problem, that it's the only way to exercise a take back of the Law. Now that more people have good cameras on their phones this moves us into a new age of capturing infractions. It sends a clear message to those who feel they are above the Law just because they are enforcers of the Law (which is a concept that boggles my mind) and to those in the "Culture of Entitlement", that this behavior will not continue to be tolerated. And for the record I do respect the NYPD and appreciate what they do and would not like for them to be in danger. Unfortunately they have a few bad apples that ruin it for the whole.

The "I'm sorry" of this elected official is nothing more than the usual "Better to ask for forgiveneness than ask for Permission." These elected officials care not for the law, and will do whatever they want. And only IF they are caught, will apologize. Not because they are sorry, but because they got caught.

Same old, same old. Nothing new here. This will occur again and again...if you only knew the stuff they are doing that hasn't been caught YET.
