Round'em Up

Here are some Bronx-related stories which we've rounded up you, our lovely readers, while trolling the interweb with our horse and lasso this fine morning:

The largest botanica on the East Coast is located on Webster Avenue near Fordham University...finally, a place nearby to get me some Mr. Money aerosol spray for my apartment! [New York Times] (BD NOTE: This wasn't exactly what I was talking about when yearning for usable retail close-by, but I sure am happy that followers of Santeria have a convenient place to shop!)

Espada is planning legislation to protect tenants...but not really [Daily News via Village Voice]

Prominent Bronx figures share their 2010 New Year's resolutions [Daily News]

A church in Unionport was the victim of hateful arson earlier this month, but the pastor is keeping hope alive [New York Times]

Bloomie was sworn as NYC mayor for the 3rd time this past Friday [New York Times]

There's also a relevant Crain's article that requires a subscription to access, so we can't provide the link...but if you'd like to check it out, Google 'cheerless bronx needs a boost crain's' and it will be the first article to pop up.
