Here we go again: Main Bronx Post Office on Study List for Possible Closure

The following e-mail was just received from a fellow Bronxite who works for the US Postal service. It looks like the main post office in the Bronx is again on a study list for possible closure. Why don't they save money by closing down Manhattans main postal branch as well? Thanks for the lead.

On Feb.1, 2011 The Postal Service announced they are beginning an AMP study on
the possibility of closing Bronx GPO 149th and Grand Concourse. They tried to
close it in 2008 but were stopped by U.S. Congressman Jose Serrano.

USPS wants to move the processing to Morgan Facility in Manhattan. The GPO
Employees would be transferred to other jobs, probably outside of New York.

Thank You.
