CALLING BRONX TEENS FOR
POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE’S TEEN IMPACT CENTERS
PAL Provides Safe Haven for Youth throughout the Bronx

Bronx teenagers, ages 14 to 19, can sign up now for the Police Athletic League’s (PAL) Teen Impact Centers in the Bronx. Through local partnerships with schools, faith-based institutions and community centers, PAL provides Bronx young people a safe haven to interact with their peers in sports and recreation programs, participate in team-building activities, attend Crime Prevention Workshops and showcase their creative skills in arts workshops. During the week, youth can be found playing basketball, taking part in team-building games and socializing with their friends. In addition, young people participate in monthly rap sessions on crime and drug prevention, conflict resolution, bullying prevention and gang awareness during the Teen Impact Centers’ evening hours.
Currently, there are 11 PAL Teen Impact Centers throughout New York City making a difference in the lives of over 3,000 teenagers. The New York City Police Department and the National Guard Counter Drug Task Force work closely with participants, fostering positive relationships between youth and the law enforcement community, in addition to encouraging young people to become active members of their neighborhoods. PAL staff and volunteers also act as adult mentors offering a positive support system that encourages teens to reach their potential, succeed in academics and stay out of trouble.
PAL’s Teen Impact Centers have open registration through May and are free for Bronx teens. Hours and days vary by location. For more information or to sign up, please visit PAL’s Teen Impact Center in your area or call (212) 477-9450 ext. 389.
