Verizon Wireless Opens New Store in the Bronx

The store is located at 2150 White Plains Road south of Pelham Parkway. Not that the Bronx really needs a ton more cell phone stores (maybe a decent grocery store?), but a new business is a new business. The fact that Verizon is opening any stores, anywhere in this economic climate is encouraging enough.

This particular store will be the fifth Verizon retailer in the Boogiedown. As part of the grand opening festivities there will be raffles and Santa. Now that's no Magic Johnson, like the Best Buy on Fordham Road, but it'll get a few warm bodies in there.


"Store Manager Antonia Denoon invites local residents to celebrate the holidays at the store on Saturday, December 13 and enter to win a 6205 Nokia phone. Up to six winners will go home with a free phone and no purchase is necessary. In addition to the phone giveaway, Power 105.1 FM radio will be on hand from noon to 2 p.m.; Santa will make a special appearance and be available for photos between 12 and 4 p.m.; and special product promotions will be offered throughout the day."
