Free VIN Etching Sponsored by Assemblyman Dinowitz, State Senator Klein, and the 50th Police Precinct
Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, State Senator Jeffrey Klein, and the 50th Police Precinct are sponsoring free VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) etching for tire rims and windshields. VIN etching is a safe, fast, and simple way to protect cars from theft. VIN etching allows law enforcement to track stolen vehicle parts and can deter the theft of those parts.
State Senator Klein and Assemblyman Dinowitz are the sponsors of legislation that would require that vehicle identification numbers be engraved on the wheels of all motor vehicles sold in New York.
