“There are upwards of 2,000 homeowners in my district,” says Council Member Cabrera. “And through these tough economic times, our residents need all the resources they can get to help manage what has in some cases, become unmanageable,” he continued.

Councilman Fernando Cabrera is working together with the Department of Environmental Protection and University Neighborhood Housing Program to meet individually with homeowners having trouble with their water bills and other issues with their properties.

“If people have trouble paying their high water bills in this unstable fiscal climate, it sometimes serves an indicator for potential foreclosure issues in the near future,” says Councilman Cabrera. “This resource fair is an attempt to help the constituents in my district before it gets to that point.”
