Kingsbridge Library Conducts Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on New Facility

(Ribbon Cutting)

(Green Roof)

The Kingsbridge Library had it's grand opening today. The new facility is located on the corner of 231st and Corlear Ave. Today's events included music, food, crafts and shows. The brand new 12,625-square-foot branch boasts state-of-the-art reading spaces for adults, teens and children, as well as an outdoor garden, a multipurpose room and NYPL’s first-ever green roof. It will hold over 20,000 books and nearly 40 computers with free internet access and wi-fi. Books, computers and green roofs; sound like a winner all around. Dignitaries present included Councilman Koppell and Assemblyman Dinowitz.

There is a new greenmarket run by the Riverdale Y on Independence near PS 24. There is fresh coffee, pastries, fruit, veggies, soap, cheese, and other good stuff! It's Sunday mornings 9-2 through the fall
