That's not even everyone. There's also that Angel chick who goes to community meetings and reads from Espada's newsletter.
Haile Rivera should not be attacked for this decision. While I have never met Haile, I think he has his very good reasons for working for Senator Espada, who I believe will win re-election.
We must admit, Espada was very smart to pick up Haile's support/skills. He's very active in the community and who knows what happens in the future...
My biggest problem with Espada's opponent J. Gustavo Rivera is that he remains a cipher.
boogie Downer has a serious problem and public infromation is not one othem . you violate dFederal Alw by publishing a government list of govenment staffers, but the knock will come on your door. If you thought you hurt Epsada, you did not. you broke the Law and the best lawyers won't save Boogie Downer. You're all lible and there may be jail for you.

If I were Marzetta Harris or any other member of Espada's senate staff, I'd spend less time threatening bloggers, Rivera supporters, and ordinary voters and worry more about finding a job come this Fall. It is pubic information. (By the way, government web sites publish lists of employees online as part of their course of doing business. There are even web sites where you can search for contract values, etc.)
Further, it is covered by legal precedent in NYT v Sullivan - look it up.

I wrote Comment #6, if that's the one that set you off. But before you start some ad hominem attack, check yourself. I am a Puerto Rican born and raised in the South Bronx. Like many of my friends, we have watched the rise of our so-called political class with more than a bit of shame and embarrassment.
Leave it to those who have nothing to offer besides cheap attacks to shout bigotry when they are being held accountable. Accountability - that's part of the democratic process and public dialog, the same public they claim to represent.
But as always, our political class prefers to wrap themselves in faux-pride when their shenanigans become painfully obvious.

My problem with this Gustavo guy is that we don't know anything about him...i've met him briefly and all but he just does the same political talk... no details, no specifics... II have not heard him say one idea he would push for for the Kingsbridge Armory redevelopment and this is critical for our community...I'm not into that living wage thing since a job at minimum wage is better than no job at all and if you don't believe me, just ask someone who's unemployed. I think that despite all the media attacks on Espada, he has the best possibilities of coming out on top on September 14th. Not that I like the guy, please don't take me wrong but at the end, we have NO IDEA WHO GUSTAVO RIVERA IS. I have lived in this community for more than 20 years and this is the FIRST TIME I hear of Gustavo. Ultimately, I might not even vote for anyone.

it is typical of the Espada people to threaten and intimidate rather than revert to reasonable discourse. And it is more than ironic that a lawmaker is willing to break every law in the book to remain in power. People on Soundview's payroll are also on the government payroll and are also at the board of elections right now threatening staffers from Gustavo's campaign.

Was there a list of his staff on that link? There is only a photograph of 6 men and information about volunteering. Did they list the campaign staff and since removed it. Very shaddy. I did hear that most if not all of the people who where at the Board of Election are his Senate Staff. Isn't that illegal?

Interesting how no one seems to want to go after ANY one else BUT Espada... and then we say we don't have a race problem in the Bronx? Please...Afrian-Americans all they need to utter is: DR. People are going after Espada because he's a crook and that's all. Period. No one believed that "they don't like to see Hispanic people in power" then and we won't believe it now. We want someone from the community who will truly represent us and fight for us. It's clear that is not Espada.
