Tom Robbins at the
Village Voice has an interesting piece that leads with a story about Westchester Pete stiffing a high end tailor for $7,200 in suits, claiming to have returned the suits, and then wearing the duds in public.
The piece also reveals that Espada's $56K/year
professional liar public relations man, Steve Mangione, also made $270K creating radio ads for a landlord lobby called the
Rent Stabilization Association. (Just a reminder that Mangione's boss is the chair of the Housing Committee).

Shame on us in the 33rd if this man is re-elected.
He just might get re-elected if the challengers cancel each other out. Please, let us see the big picture and work this out! Most latinos who may question who to vote for are not likely to vote for Dan Padernacht, they are more likely to vote for Gustavo Rivera due to name and cutural association. Not that that's a good reason to vote but that is the pattern. Ideally it would be a head to head with these two guys with the best candidate comming out on top with Espada not event factoring in (in a perfect world I guess).
Dan Padernacht will not drop out. That's the point. He's a plant.
Voting for Rivera because he is "Latino" is stupid. What do we really know about him? He sent out a four page mailer recently that had a bunch of pictures and very little to say why he thinks he is qualified. At least tell people how you plan to do anything for this community...
All this whining about Padernacht possibly being a spoiler is really about Rivera being a weak challenger, otherwise, it wouldn't matter. I'd ather have a choice than to have another narcissist in office...
