Perry Avenue Historic District?

Last February we reported that there was a possibility that the Landmarks Preservation Commission would be landmarking the row houses on Perry Avenue between Bedford Park Blvd. and E. 201st Street. Well, the Daily News' Mike Jaccarino is reporting that a vote will indeed take place next Tuesday (12/15) regarding the creation of a Perry Avenue Historic District.

Click here to read the Daily News piece.

Among the other Bronx buildings being considered for landmark status next week are: the Percy R. Pyne-Elie Nadelman House at 4715 Independence Avenue in Riverdale, the Civil War-era Greyston Dodge Estate Gatehouse at 4695 Independence Avenue in Riverdale, the Haffen Building at 2804 Third Avenue, and the Union Reform Church at 1272 Ogden Ave. in Highbridge.
We are lucky enough to live directly diagonal from the Perry Avenue row houses (pictured above) and I can't tell you how nice it is to walk out of our building and see them in all their glory each day. They are simply gorgeous, and we fully support the creation of a Perry Avenue Historic District!

That is great! I read they are even considering portions of the Grand Concourse!
