I attended.Patterson is a rarity. he told it EXACTLY as it is...our state is facing insolvency by months end. It will be a painful situation for many of the struggling families in the Bronx. He made no promises, he asked for us to stick together. It was refreshing to see a politician speak with genuine honesty and compassion to and for the people of the Bronx.it reminded me of:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRBzTPCIZkcI've spent my entire life in this great borough. We were declared a disaster area by Jimmy Carter in the 70's; we fought off the crime and crack epidemic in the 80's; we dealt with horrendous police brutality through the death of Amadou Diallo in the 90's; and in the new millenium we will continue to fight the good fight. The war on poverty is hell. But we will continue to fight...and I am sure...in my heart we will win.We will NOT lose.
