Council Member Joel Rivera joins the local Precinct Community Councils on Tuesday August 2, 2011 for NYPD National Night Out Against Crime.

National Night Out is an effective program held on the second Tuesday in August throughout New York City and across the United States. This program is designed to involve the community in local anti-crime programs, reinforcing neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. Council Member Joel Rivera has been an active supporter of our local Precinct Community Councils and National Night Out by allocating funds to assist them with the community outreach programs.

“Today we are sending a message that we as a community are working to strengthen the safety of our neighborhood streets for our children, seniors and families. Through our precinct community councils and the NYPD, we are doing our best to keep crime and drugs off the streets making it a sounder place to live,” states Council Member Joel Rivera.
