Get Off Your Butts For a Good Cause... And Meet Tiki Barber!

The Wildlife Conservation Society will be sponsoring a 5K fun run/walk on Saturday, April 25th at the Bronx Zoo. Registration fees range from $30 to $18 and include general admission to the zoo! Click here to register.

Here are all the details straight from the ol' inbox:

The WCS Run for the Wild is a 5K fun run/walk for participants of all ages. This year’s run is dedicated to gorilla conservation, as 2009 has been designated the Year of the Gorilla by the United Nations. The Wildlife Conservation Society has been a leader in gorilla conservation since the 1950s. Today, WCS is the only organization of its kind working to save all four species of gorillas in nature, while showcasing gorillas at its award-winning Congo Gorilla Forest habitat at the Bronx Zoo.

Join Tiki Barber and other notables as they as they run, walk, trot, slither or hop at one of the “wildest” events of the year.

The WCS Run for the Wild will feature post-race activities including live music, yoga classes by YogaWorks, recycling brigades by TerraCycle, holistic massages, eco-friendly games and activities, plus a special “meet and greet” signing opportunity with Tiki Barber for WCS Run for the Wild participants only from 10 AM until Noon.

The Run for the Wild is a special fundraising effort which allows participants to make one-time pledges for gorillas, create customized individual and team fundraising pages, and register at the online site – www.wcsrunforthewild.org. Those who are unable to attend can participate through a virtual run at this site too!
