A BoogieDowner reader sent these photos of the Bentley and its surrounding area for your perusal. Thanks, Lora!

Nice Pictures, Unfortunately they show how unimaginative the architecture is. Developer is obviously trying to maximize profit and minimizing aesthetic. This type of "Fedders" structure minimizes the potential beautification of a community. If residents live in a beautiful area they would tend to want to keep it beautiful and take pride in it, that's not the case if the neighborhood starts to look like a draby, droneish refugee ghetto.

Totally agree on the point that Fedders buildings offer absolutely zero aesthetic appeal. But... are you implying that Van Cortlandt Village is a "draby, droneish refugee ghetto?" If so, I think countless VCV residents would disagree with you (not to mention be rightfully offended by your comment).

By no means was I looking to implying that Van Cortlandt Village is a "draby, droneish refugee ghetto?" One boring building does not make an ugly community. No offense was intended. I was simply trying to point out that these types of unimaginative structures do not improve the aesthetic of a neighborhood and if they begin to multiply the entire neighborhood will suffer.

Well we did it, and went to go see "The Bentley." We checked out the website before making the jump to see the apartments. We were interested in a 2 or 3 bedroom but only 2 bedrooms are available at the moment. The building is only 5 years old, just was a plus for us, we currently live in an older building in Kingsbridge and wanted to upgrade. Anyway, for the cost for the area and what you get, we were not impressed. If the rent was cheaper and apartments were bigger, we could do it.
