Sustainable South Bronx Distributing 200 Free Trees to Local Residents

Good Morning,

I am writing on behalf of Sustainable South Bronx. On April 14, 2012, at Hunts Point Riverside Park, we are distributing 200 trees to local residential property owners free of charge. The event, which takes place from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, will also feature various resources such as recycling materials courtesy of GrowNYC, healthy snacks, and information for community residents interested in becoming more environmentally conscious. This project is part of our effort to provide neighborhood residents with the resources to green their local community and work towards a healthier South Bronx.

We would like to share this opportunity with as many Bronxites as we can reach. Is it possible to post this on your blog? We know that the BoogieDowner is a great source of info for many in the community. Any efforts to share this information will be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if this is a possibility.

Get your Free Trees Tomorrow, November 16th, at the NY Botanical Garden

If you’re considering planting a new tree in your back yard, here is a great opportunity get one for free!!! The opportunity stems from NYC's desire to plant more trees in order to beautify our city and help keep our air as clean as possible. The tree give away will take place tomorrow and conditions do apply. If interested please do read on.

November 16, 2011 (9AM - 3PM) Tree Give-Away at New York Botanical Garden NYBG Green Market (Mosholu Pkwy entrance) Tree Give-Away at the New York Botanical Garden Wednesday, November 16th from 9AM to 3PM Take home a free tree!! The Alliance in partnership with New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, New York Restoration Project, and Million Trees, have teamed up to offer free trees in the Bronx. Trees will be made available for individuals to take home to plant on private propety. Trees must be planted within the five boroughs and cannot be planted in containers, on rooftops, or along the street.
