We've been offered the opportunity to give away two free pairs of tickets for tomorrow evening's screening of the movie 'City Island.'

The screening is tomorrow, 3/18, at 8pm at the Angelika, which is located at 18 West Houston St. (@ Mercer St.).

The correct answer is: Native City Islanders are clam diggers. Non-native City Islanders are called 'mussel suckers.'

'City Island' Trailer Online

The eponymous film 'City Island' premiered to rave reviews at last year's Tribeca Film Festival. It took home the Audience Award, which is determined by attendees' votes after the screenings. Thankfully, the film was picked up by Anchor Bay films and it will appear theatrically beginning March 19th, 2010.

This is super exciting news for Bronxites. City Island is no stranger to film and television crews -- many productions film there, but they always seem to portray the island as a faraway quaint seaside setting. (Every time I watch 'The Royal Tenenbaums,' I think to myself, where the hell was this filmed? Turns out...City Island.)

Raymond De Felitta, the film's writer and director, was determined to keep the movie as authentic and true to New York as possible. The lead character, Vince Rizzo (portrayed by Andy Garcia), is a corrections officer who has lived on City Island his whole life and is afraid to admit to his family that his lifelong dream is to become an actor.
