2nd Annual Bronx Week Film Festival Selections: Tentative May 12th and May 13th Schedule

Here are the selections and tentative time allocations for the 2nd Annual Bronx Week Film Festival. Besides the Saturday, Sunday showing on May 12th and May 13th, additional showings and workshops will be announced during the week, up to the red carpet film and TV industry gala event on Thursday, May 17th. Tickets to the screenings will be made available to the public at no charge via a web site in the near future.

The Saturday, Sunday showings will be held at the Bruckner Bar and Grill. Kudos to the owners at the Bruckner Bar and Grill for there support in making last years and this years Bronx Week film festival a reality. Additional Kudos for the support from our Bronx Borough President, the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation and the Bronx Tourism Council for their steadfast support as well. It’s great to see the community getting together to support and promote Bronx filmmakers and producers.

Final Call for Submissions to the 2nd Annual Bronx Week Film Festival

If you’re from the Bronx or if you made a film in or about our borough, there is still time to submit your film, or short for consideration for the 2nd Annual Bronx Week Film Festival. Please do submit your shorts to either or both of the following e-mails;

There is no fee to submit an entry or participate. The goal is to promote and create synergy in our borough for film makers and others in the industry. If you have a CD that you want to pass on in person please do call me on my cell # at (845) 304-5745.

Submissions are requested on or before SATUTRDAY MARCH 31st. The showings are scheduled for May 12th, 13th. The Gala celebration is set for and May 17th.

Savor The Bronx! Restaurant Week Coming In November : Restaurants to Serve Up Special Deals November 1 – 13, 2011

The Bronx is having its first ever restaurant week. I don't know why no one thought of this before. With all the great restaurants in our borough and our diverse ethnic population, each with their own secrete recipes, it should be a great success. For more information on "Savor the Bronx" please do review the press release sent and log onto the web address provided. This is definitely a step in the right direction for our borough. Kudos to all the organizations teaming up to make the event possible.

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., in conjunction with the New York State Restaurant Association, will present Savor The Bronx!, the borough’s first restaurant week from Tuesday, November 1 to Sunday, November 13.

The event, produced by the Bronx Tourism Council and co-hosted by the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (BOEDC) and the Bronx Chamber of Commerce, will showcase the borough’s best eateries. They’ll offer special values and discounts like prix fixe 3-course meals, complimentary coffee and dessert, or 20% off the check.

Foodies can experience delicious dishes from the Americas, the Caribbean, Asia, Central America, Europe and Africa, all of which are available in the Bronx.
