While walking around Mott Haven after last Sunday's brunch at the Bruckner Bar and Grill, we were intrigued by the catchy storefront for the newly opened Bronx Hydro & Garden, a place sure to become a haven for those interested in hydroponics (growing plants in water without soil).
We stopped in to see what the shop was all about, and found out the following:
- They offer everything you would need in order to get started growing plants and veggies in your apartment -- including expert advice for those interested in undertaking a rooftop garden.
- They offer a free class called "Intro to Hydroponics" on Saturdays from 10 to 11am.
- The Mott Haven location is their first, but a Brooklyn location is currently being established.
- No, Bronx Hydro is not a storefront dedicated to selling weed (although we're gunna guess they might have some helpful tips for growing the sweet stuff...nothing in particular gave us that impression, other than the fact that they seem quite knowledgeable about all aspects of hydroponics).

Boogiedowner, while trying to be nice and funny made a CLASSIC mistake!
NEVER EVER ASSUME that a legit hydro shop will be able to tell you ANYTHING about ganja!! By LAW, if you ask, they are supposed to throw you out! LEO (Law Enforcement Officers) use that all the time as an entrapment tactic! PLEASE! Bronx Hydro WANTS to stay in business. Need Ganja Growing advice? The INTERNET is full of forums with people to help you 24/7!

This is really cool stuff. Another hydro store in the area. I guess the edge of this newly opened hydro haven is that they have classes for novice hydro growers. That's really very interesting. :)
