Come to experience one of the Van Cortlandt Park’s seven wonders.

The Friends of Van Cortlandt Park (FVCP) is hosting their First Seven Wonders
of Van Cortlandt Park event on Wednesday, June 15, 2011. There are many
natural and historic wonders of Van Cortlandt Park and FVCP invites you to
come discover the first of the seven and help us determine the others.

“The Friends of Van Cortlandt Park is very excited to host this event for the very
first time” said Christina Taylor, Executive Director of FVCP. “It will be a
unique opportunity to engage the community in the special features of Van
Cortlandt Park.”

Participants will be able to meet the Friends and learn more about Van Cortlandt Park.
Refreshments and hors d'oeuvre will be served and an optional guided “hike” to one of
the wonders will be offered. Additionally, guests will have the chance to enter a drawing
by purchasing a $5 raffle ticket or five raffle tickets for $20, in which FVCP will raffle
off five gift certificates for local restaurants. All funds raised from this raffle will
support the educational and stewardship programs provided by FVCP. Everyone should
wear shoes appropriate for a natural walking surface. Parking is available. Please RSVP
for this event by June 8th.
