New York Cares, the city’s leading volunteer organization, offers great ways for Bronx residents to get involved in their community through rewarding, conveniently scheduled projects.
March Volunteer Project Highlights – The Bronx
Becoming a New York Cares volunteer is easy. Simply attend a one-time orientation at the Mott Haven Library in Fordham on the evening of Tuesday, March 20th or any other Bronx location. Upcoming Bronx project highlights:
- Mock Interviews with Jobs-Plus at BronxWorks — Empower local job seekers transitioning to self-sufficiency by taking an hour and a half of your time to participate in mock interviews in Melrose on Monday afternoons. Spanish language skills desired but not required. Professional work experience and attire is strongly recommended.
- Fun with Data at Ariva — Ensure that communities of New York get the services they need by working with a team of volunteers to transfer data from Food Stamps surveys to an online database on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings in Highbridge.
- Sports Explorers with Immaculate Conception School — Motivate middle school students to meet their potential by playing basketball, soccer, and other sports in Norwood on Monday afternoons.
- Spruce Up Drew Gardens — Spend a Saturday morning outdoors revitalizing this local riverside community garden in Morrisania, making sure it remains a clean, safe, and fun place to relax, garden, and enjoy nature.
