Espada and Son Indicted

Finally scumbag Pedro Espada Jr. and his equally contemptible son Pedro G Espada (the same one who quit a $120K/year fake job his dad extorted from the coup) have been indicted on six counts in federal court. The Daily News and Times Union have details.

Of course, the charges all have to do with Espada using his largely taxpayer funded network of heath care clinics as a personal piggy bank.

Hopefully these criminal charges will stick. (n.b the complaints filed by AG Cuomo back in April were civil rather than criminal). If convicted the poverty pimps could face up to 10 years in the slammer and a $250K fine.

Not yet. He bought the election. He can buy justice.

No doubt it will be a slap on the wrist, but he, nor his parasitic spawn, will ever serve in public office again...so at least there is a silver lining.

Just goes to show the power of race politics and how it can be played for the benefit and power of one man and his family. Shame to the clueless voters who don't research what the politicians who represent them are really about. But at least enough people had the brains to vote him out this one last time. Lets try to keep our elected officials on their toes. We need strong challengers to prevent virtual monarchies in this democratic republic. Think Rangel. Think Bloomberg.

Anonymous #3 should remember that Don't knock the voters too hard -- we get really poor choices sometimes. Pedro Espada Jr. has never in his career been RE-elected. He manages to get elected, and the voters toss him out.

In the 33rd Senate district, we had an incumbent, Efrain Gonzalez, who had ALREADY been indicted for stealing the public's money, when Espada ran against him. I wss so disgusted, I voted for myself.

But you're right -- having booted Espada, we should pick the next target to get rid off, and find a good person to run against him or her. Who should it be?

@Margaret

Interested in knowing who the other target is? Is there more than one? And who is going to step up? Now I'm curious...
