Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education Announces Grant Opportunities for Artists

Casita Maria Center for
Arts and Education is
Giving Away Money!!!

Bronx-Based Performing Arts
Commissioning Program

Casita Maria is now accepting proposals for new performing arts work - musical, theatrical, spoken word - that highlights Bronx-based artists, giving them a space and funds to present their artistic works for the South Bronx community. Casita Maria will award five (5) $1,000 grants for productions costs and artist fees, as well as providing access to rehearsal and presenting space.

This initiative will highlight the emerging and established artists of the Bronx. Through an application and careful selection process, this program will provide much needed rehearsal space, performance space, and arts opportunities for the artists/arts groups while providing our community with the rich arts-based culture that is right here in their neighborhood. With the chosen artists, Casita members will not only be able to view culturally relevant performance and visual art productions, but they will get a chance to engage with artists in artistic workshops and community based events. Artists will receive a small stipend for productions and will gain access to all theater equipment and rehearsal space according to the space requirements. This is a chance to bring artists into the space and to better expose members to the enriching qualities of the arts.

Selection Process

Our process will include two steps: application and panel review.
